An Angelino artist with an eye for architecture and design, Pedro has been part of the DUM DUM initiative since inception. Plus we’ve been in love with his photo collection + caption series entitled Palm Readings, so we asked him to design an object from his year-long journey of documenting palm trees using only a handful of disposable cameras.

Palm Pornography

A note from Pedro: As a ubiquitous, visual staple crop that at times fades into the city backdrop, I wanted to reframe palm trees back into the foreground. In their abundance they are prosaic but in a singular encounter they can become nearly poetic. This photo/text, physical/digital project is an exercise in (mis)interpreting what a personified palm might murmur, proclaim, exclaim or maybe even reclaim from us. Plus it’s palm sized.
